Massive blob of plasma will kill tens of millions

Apparently NASA is sorta concerned about the Sun flinging a big fat ball of solar matter our way, destroying most of the planet's electrical grid and leading to the death of millions due to our dependence on electricity for everything from drinking water to pharmaceuticals.

It's a Girl

Any man can build an outhouse. Not every man can build indoor plumbing. Her name is Rachel Kathleen. 21 weeks old and developing nicely. Now if I can just hurry up and get Jacqueline potty trained...

Survey

Got my check today and, lo and behold, I had fifteen extra dollars. Sure enough, I looked at the fed tax figure and it was lower. Looks like that Obama tax cut took effect. Thank you, Mr. O. I leave the debate over whether or not I think it was a good decision for another day.

Here's what I want to know: What are you going to do with that extra bit o' cash?

Me? I already have an allotment that puts a few bucks each week into a savings account, so I upped it by the same amount, fifteen bucks. Straight under the mattress, baby. This way I don't even miss it.

Completely superfluous, random post

I really, really, really hate Spongebob Squarepants. I go out of my way to keep my kid from watching it. We were at a relative's house the other day and I found her watching it upstairs with her cousin. I immediately found some matchbox cars and said, "Hey Jacqueline, look! Cars! Let's play with 'em."

Mission accomplished. Her cousin's brain continued to turn to goo as my own child enjoyed some good old fashioned playtime with her loving father.

Obama too tired. So the headline reads.

And nah, there's nothing special about our relationship with Britain. Nothing at all. I mean, they only sent more troops to help in Iraq than any other nation - or maybe that's a minus in Obama's mind. And there's that whole WW II slash NATO thing, blahblahblah. Nope. Nothing special about it at all.

Smoke em if ya got em, Mr. President. It's gonna be a long four years. For all of us.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to buy some natural hemp rope and hang myself from the nearest tree. After I give it a great big hug and ask permission from it's spirit to use one of its limbs to suspend my dead carcass.

(Actually, every time I hear something like this it brings me that much closer to finding an old tire somewhere and setting it on fire, just for spite. Seriously.)
